Green Stacked Rock Column Resin Sculpture, 106cm, eleven rough-edged stacked blocks on a black stone base, set against a plain white background.
Green Stacked Rock Column Resin Sculpture - 106cm $4,38700
Description

Eleven rough masses piled into a rising column with every face left broken, standing on dark stone. Green throughout, darkest where the blocks are deepest and brightest at the broken edges. The column comes with a black stone block beneath it. The blocks sit slightly off-centre on one another, so the column wavers a little as it rises.

Eleven Blocks and No Two Alike

A column built of separate rough blocks has to be drawn as a whole and cut as eleven pieces, and neither of those can be settled without the other. No polish is taken to any of it. The break faces are the surface, and they return light in a way a worked face cannot, which is why the green reads as a mineral rather than as a tint in a casting. Green in a body left rough returns light from the break faces rather than through them, so the colour reads as mineral rather than as tint. The blocks are left as broken faces with no polish anywhere, which is the whole surface treatment.

A hall, a landing or a floor position beside a stair. Pale. A dark ground takes the broken edges with it. Light from one side is essential: a rough green body under flat light reads as a single dark mass. The stacked profile carries from anywhere; the individual breaks need two paces.

Changing the Block Count, and Getting It In

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The block count can change, the green can be run deeper, and a stone of more depth is available. Change the block count and the whole column is redrawn, since no two of the eleven are alike and each is shaped against its neighbour. The block count is open and changing it redraws the whole column rather than adding to it, because every block is cut to sit on the one beneath and none of the eleven repeats anywhere in the stack. One crate, on its stone, arriving upright. Two people. The break faces are sharp and want gloves. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Rough green blocks piled into a column lead to our organic sculptures; the unpolished casting sits among our resin sculptures, and more that suits an upstairs landing sits in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
