Green Splash & Droplet Crest Resin Sculpture, 102cm, clear wave-like fingers with droplet tips rising from green-streaked base, on black block, white background.
Green Splash & Droplet Crest Resin Sculpture - 102cm $2,91600
Description

Green runs up through the body of this cast resin sculpture in fine threads and is spent by the crest, which throws a fan of colourless fingers each tipped with a droplet. The droplets are solid and rounded and sit at the very ends of the fingers, so the fan is read as a row of points of light rather than as a set of spikes. The block under it is small and black and does little more than keep the foot off the surface.

The Green Is Spent Before the Crest Starts

A colour that stops at an edge looks like two pieces joined. This one stops inside the material, somewhere between the body and the crest, with no line anywhere that the eye can find and land on. The green is carried in fine threads rather than as an even tint, thickest in the burst at the foot and along the sweep of the S, and the threads thin out and give way as the water climbs, so the change from colour to clear happens across a stretch of the piece instead of at a point. Above it the fan is left colourless, and since the droplets at the ends of the fingers would show any trace of green at once, the colour is kept well away from them.

The droplet tips catch a point source and lose it in flat light, so it wants one strong lamp rather than an even room. Under a downlight each droplet picks up a highlight and the fan comes alive; under diffused daylight the same fan is a row of grey knobs. The lamp is better placed in front of and above the piece than behind it, since the droplets are solid and do not carry anything through them. At 102cm on its block it is tall and narrow, so it sits happily on a console or a sideboard, where the fan of droplets is met at about the level of a standing eye.

A Change That Happens Inside the Material, and Delivery

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The green has to be gone by the time the crest starts, so the change happens inside the material and not at an edge. The green runs to a blue or an amber, the fan is drawn wider or tighter, and the height is cut to order. The number of droplets is set at order, and a pale block can replace this black one to sit against the colour. It leaves in one braced crate standing up with the crest faced droplet by droplet, the block packed beneath it in a tray of its own, and the two are seated together on arrival. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Colour spent by the crest is organic sculpture; the green is carried in resin sculpture; and droplet tips that need one lamp are indoor sculpture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
