Green Rising Spiral Ribbon Resin Sculpture - 66cm $1,82200
Description

A ribbon climbing through three complete turns, each passing over the one below, on a block of black marble. Green throughout, gathering where the turns pass over one another and clearing along the open runs between them. The black stone block beneath it comes with the spiral, and the lowest turn rests directly on it.

Three Strengths of One Green

A form that passes over itself gives one pigment more than one value, and the number of turns decides how many. Each turn has to clear the one beneath it by enough to be read as separate and little enough to keep the spiral climbing rather than stepping. The pitch is constant the whole way up, which is harder to hold than it sounds on a form with no straight run anywhere in it. A single green in a body that overlaps itself three times turns into three strengths of one colour with no second pigment involved, and the deepest of them sit exactly where the form is busiest. Polished the whole way along the ribbon, inside the turns as well as outside them.

It wants a position reachable from two directions at least, because the turns stack differently from each. Pale or mid-tone. The overlaps need contrast behind them to read. Light from above follows the spiral down; light from the side separates the turns from one another. The rising movement carries across a room and the three strengths of green arrive close to.

Adding a Turn, and Getting It There

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The turn count can change, the green can be exchanged for amber, and the ribbon can be drawn wider. Add a turn and every overlap darkens, because there is then more material in front of the same light. Everything travels together in one case and needs no putting together at this end. One person at the block. Do not lift by the top turn. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Ribbons rising through three overlapping turns continue in our organic sculptures; the single green casting sits with our resin sculptures, and further spirals for a room sit in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.

Questions Before You Order?

If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
