Green Ribbed Vessel Resin Sculpture, 106cm, tall herringbone-ribbed vessel with narrow neck, green tones, on a black marble base, set against a plain light grey background.
Green Ribbed Vessel Resin Sculpture - 106cm $2,22700
Description

A vessel drawn to a narrow neck and ribbed in a deep herringbone from the foot upward, on a block of black marble. Green through the whole body, deepest in the troughs of the ribbing and palest along every crest. The black marble block it stands on is included, cut close to the vessel's foot.

A Trough and a Crest, All the Way Up

A single tint gives a single tone until something is done to the surface. Ribbing puts a trough beside a crest all the way up the body, and because the trough holds more material than the crest the piece reads as striped in a colour that was never striped. Ribbing a tinted body puts a trough and a crest side by side all the way up, so a single green produces a striped tone the material alone could not give. Polished over every rib, including the inside of the troughs, which is where the depth of colour comes from.

A hall console or a wide sill, set where the narrow neck is above the eye rather than below it. Stand it against something pale, so the ribbing reads as ribbing and not as shadow. Light from one side turns every crest into a line; light from in front closes the ribs up into a flat green. The taper carries from across a room and the ribbing is what brings you nearer.

Opening the Rib Pitch, and One Crate

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. We will open the rib pitch, exchange the green, or draw the neck wider. Open the rib pitch and the neck is redrawn to it, because the ribs have to close at the top or the whole run looks cut short. Of everything offered here the rib pitch is the variable that matters, because the number of troughs between foot and neck decides how many tones the single green is asked to produce. A single tall crate holds both parts, and no tool is needed to stand them up together. Two people, taking it round the body and never by the neck. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A green vessel ribbed in a deep herringbone leads to our organic sculptures; the ribbed casting belongs among our resin sculptures, and a hall with height suits it among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
