Green Lagoon Contour Resin & Wood Round Table, 150cm, with a layered wood base and a topographic resin top in mint, turquoise, and deep green-teal, on a plain white background.
Green Lagoon Contour Resin & Wood Round Table - 150cm $26,86700
Description

A round table shaped as a full hemisphere of pale boards laid flat, so its curved body is banded all round in their sawn edges, with a contoured lagoon set into the level top. The colour runs mint and pale green at the rim, through turquoise, to a deeper green-teal in the middle, and the boundaries between the tones are drawn as closed shapes rather than blended. Pale timber breaks the surface around the rim in broad, ragged masses.

A Lagoon Set Into a Hemisphere of Boards

The scale is what changes the reading here. The inlaid area is nearly the full width of the top, enough for the shapes inside it to read as separate islands, inlets and shelves rather than as one pattern: pale timber masses stand out around the rim, stepped shelves of mint and turquoise fall away from them, and a deep green-teal pool opens in the middle. Each shelf is the edge of one board, so the descent reads as contour lines drawn close together. Below the rim the hemisphere is banded in the sawn edges of the boards, pale and even, and at two points the teal reaches down into the side of the bowl.

The body is the thing to plan for. It is full width at the top and curves away beneath, so nothing tucks under it and this is a centre table rather than a dining table: it suits the middle of a large room, a hotel lobby, a wide landing or a showroom floor, with seating arranged around it rather than pulled up to it. It stands high enough to be read from a standing position, which is the right way to see this much drawn landscape. Give it clear floor all the way round, since the banded bowl is part of the object and a wall against one side hides a third of it. Indoor use only.

Diameter, the Palette and Moving a Solid Bowl

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The boards set the pace, since every layer of the bowl is cut to its own outline before any colour goes in. Diameter is made to order, and the drawn composition is set out to the diameter rather than scaled from one original, so a narrow top has fewer and broader shapes. It can be built to sit nearer the floor in a room where people gather round it, or to stand higher in a lobby they walk through. The palette can be changed as a whole, and a blue with cream, a green with white and a grey with black are all made. Weight and access are the practical constraints: the table comes as one solid piece on a purpose-built pallet, it will not go up a domestic stair, and it needs four people and a wide clear route. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A green lagoon sunk into a bowl of stacked boards suits our art furniture as a centre table, our organic sculptures for its shorelines, and our resin sculptures for the cast water.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
