An open cradle of green resin whose two ends rise into uprights of quite different kinds. At one end clear layers stand one behind another, cut off square on a slant; at the other the wall folds up into a sharp point of crisp facets. Between them the rim runs in one smooth curve. Green is banked heavily at the foot and clears through the wall to colourless at the rim. Nothing is supplied under it; the cradle was drawn to stand on the run of its own foot.
A cradle that rises into an upright at each end is a vessel that has given up being useful, and everything about the wall is drawn for looking rather than holding. The wall is deepest at the foot and thins all the way to the rim, which is the opposite of how a bowl meant for use would be made and the reason the green pools where it does. A wall this deep holds its own colour graduation, which is why the green looks poured rather than painted on. Polished inside and out, with bubbles left where the pour put them through the thickest part.
A wide sideboard or a console table, at a height where the hollow is open to anybody standing. A pale wall behind holds the two uprights; a dark one swallows them. Light falling into the hollow is what brings the green up, and from the side the piece goes flat. It reads as a solid green mass from away, and the fact that it is open is a near discovery.
Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The uprights can be set further apart, the green carried up the wall, and the bubbles left out. Move the uprights apart and the wall between them is redrawn, so the opening keeps its proportion to the foot. The layered end can be built with more layers or fewer, and the folded point cut with sharper or softer facets. One crate, one piece, and nothing to do on arrival. Two people should lift it, and only by the foot: the weight is all there, and neither upright will take a hand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
An open green cradle, layered at one end and folded to a faceted point at the other, sits with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
