Green Cluster Column Cast Resin Side Table - 47cm
Green Cluster Column Cast Resin Side Table - 47cm $3,10300
Description

This side table is cast in a clear green resin. The top is a three-lobed clover, thick at the edge and level across its face, and it overhangs on every side. Below it the column is made of three upright lobes fused into one member, and where the top is glassy the column is crazed from foot to head with a dense network of fine internal fractures. Top and column share one bright blue-green, which the crazing breaks into glints all down the column.

A Glassy Top Over a Crazed Column

Two surfaces do all the work and they are opposites. The top is smooth, polished and unbroken, so it takes a clean reflection of whatever is above it and its clover outline reads as a single sharp line. The column is the reverse: its whole surface is filled with fine angular fractures, close-packed and running in every direction, so it holds no reflection at all and instead scatters a granular light. Because the material is the same emerald throughout, the difference is entirely one of surface, and the column consequently reads as a paler, denser, more solid mass while the top reads as a sheet of glass laid over it. The three lobes of the column line up under the three lobes of the top, but the top is wider, so each lobe of the column sits back inside its own shadow.

At 47cm it stands level with the seat of a sofa rather than its arm, and the slim plan slips into the gap between two chairs or closes off a row of seats. The clover top is level and takes a lamp, a glass or a stack of two or three books. It suits a position with light coming from one side, because the crazed column lights up along its whole height while the top stays dark, which separates the two halves further. On a dark floor the column is the brighter of the two. Indoors only.

The Crazing, the Lobe Count, and Which Half Carries It

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The texture on the column is what takes the time. Three things are open. Whether the crazing sits on the column as here, on the top instead, which turns the reading upside down, or on neither, which leaves a plain glassy table. The lobe count, from three as here up to five, which makes the column read as a fluted drum rather than as a cluster. And the green, which can be this emerald, a smoke grey, an amber or a colourless clear. Plan, height and column diameter are each named at order. It ships in a single crate and needs nothing done to it; one person manages the lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Its clover top and lobed column suit our organic sculptures, the crazed green casting sits well beside our resin sculptures, and a side table meant to hold a lamp or a glass has its home in our art furniture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
