Green & Yellow Woven Lattice Boat Resin Sculpture - 190cm
Green & Yellow Woven Lattice Boat Resin Sculpture - 190cm $5,87100
Description

One long, shallow vessel, narrowing to a fine point at either end, held clear of a dark metal bar on two slim uprights. A loose lattice of green ribs is woven over its upper body, and below it the amber is worked in rows of slanting ribs like the barbs of a feather, while the two ends draw away to points fine enough to see through. Each upright stands well in from its end and cradles the hull at its top, and the bar and both uprights come with the vessel.

A Green Lattice Over a Feathered Amber Hull

A vessel this long has to be held by its texture as much as by its outline, and the surface is worked in two ways for that reason. The green lattice runs loose and open along the upper body, its ribs crossing at a different density along the run, and the amber below is cut into close, slanting ribs that read like the barbs of a feather, so the eye is passed from one texture to the other as it travels along. The section is deepest across the middle and thins to a point at either end, and the uprights stand in from the ends rather than under them, which leaves both points running free.

Its length asks for a console or a long sideboard, and it has to be walked along rather than faced. A source set at one end reaches further along the lattice than anything overhead. The bar wants a level run, since the two uprights are the only points of contact and a rocking surface will show at the tips. At this length the piece is taken in over several passes rather than at a glance, and the lattice gives each pass something new because the ribs cross at a different density along the run.

Spans, the Lattice, and Delivery

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. The green lattice is drawn finer or coarser, the amber floor is deepened, and the bar is offered in a pale metal instead of a dark one. Length is what is specified at the order, and the bar is cut to whatever the vessel is run at. A paler metal under it lightens the whole arrangement, which matters more here than on a piece that sits on a block. Vessel and bar travel in one long crate packed apart, and the vessel is lifted level from beneath, never by its fine points. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A long vessel woven in green over a feathered amber hull and raised on dark uprights runs alongside our organic sculptures, our metal sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
