Gold Leafed Summit Mountain Cast Resin Sculpture, 46cm, with gold leaf covering the upper peak and clear resin base, shown on a plain white background.
Gold Leafed Summit Mountain Cast Resin Sculpture - 46cm $2,02400
Description

Gold leaf sheathes the upper two thirds of this peak, the foot beneath left clear. The leaf is applied to the outside rather than caught in the material, so it stops at a hard edge rather than fading. It stands on no base at all, and the leaf follows the contour of the rock rather than a level line across it.

Where the Leaf Stops Is a Drawn Line

A tint in the material can be let go gradually and nobody sees where it ended. Applied leaf cannot: it stops where it stops, and that line is as much a part of the drawing as the summit is. Run it level and the mountain looks dipped, like a candle held in paint. So the line here follows a contour instead - it rises over the shoulders and dips into the gullies, the way a snowline does - and because a contour has to be found on each casting rather than measured onto it, no two pieces carry it in exactly the same place.

Gold leaf is directional: it takes the light at one angle and goes flat at another, so the piece changes completely as it is walked past. Set it where that happens - across a room from a window, or beside a lamp that is moved in the evening - rather than under a single fixed downlighter, which gives it one reading and holds it there. It is shelf and console height rather than floor height.

The Line, the Coverage, and Getting It Home

Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The leaf is applied rather than caught in the material, so it stops at a line and that line follows a contour rather than a height. The coverage is taken further down or held higher, the leaf is changed to a silver, and a flecked version with the gold inside the body is made instead. The flecked version loses the hard line entirely and is the quieter of the two. It travels in one padded case with the leafed surface faced and never wrapped against itself, and it is lifted by the clear foot. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A summit sheathed in gold belongs with our organic sculptures; leaf stopping at a drawn contour sets it among our resin sculptures, and gold that turns as people pass suits our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
