Description

A compact arched abstract cast in opaque black resin, polished until it gleams. Its narrow foot swings up through a double curve into a rippled ridge that ends in a spike, and a fin is thrown out low on the body. Solid black leaves nothing to see inside, so the piece is all silhouette and reflection, and the black marble block it stands on, included, continues the colour down to the surface.

Opaque black changes the whole reading of the form. The clear and coloured versions are looked into; this one is looked at, and the eye follows its outline and the highlights sliding over its surface. That makes the shape of the crest and the swing of the double curve more graphic than in any colour you can see into, and it asks for a flawless polish, since a mark on black is seen at once. The block beneath it is black too, so casting and base read as a single dark shape.

A white or pale room suits it, with the piece on a broad shelf, a sideboard or a console where the black outline can stand against a light wall. It suits monochrome interiors, marble and chrome, and it gives a quiet bright room a strong accent. Light from a window or a spotlight at an angle runs a white highlight along each curve. Against a dark wall it disappears, so give it contrast.

Matt Black, or White, and the Delivery

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. The gloss can be exchanged for a matt or satin black, and the same form can be cast in opaque white for a paired set. For contrast, it can stand on white marble instead. Clear, inked, aqua, emerald and graded blue versions are also made, together with the marbled original, each sold on its own. It comes in a single carton with its block, and one person can lift it out and set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
