Frosted Slab Back Cast Resin Chair - 58cm
Frosted Slab Back Cast Resin Chair - 58cm $2,76500
Description

This frosted resin chair is built from two flat elements: a rectangular back slab with rounded corners, and a seat slab of the same thickness, meeting at close to a right angle. Three plain cylinders carry the seat, one at each front corner and one under the centre back. The frost is a cool white with a faint grey cast, even across every face.

Two Flat Slabs Instead of a Shell

Geometry rather than decoration is the point of this chair, and it changes how the object sits in a room. It reads as parts assembled rather than as one moulded shell, even though no joint is visible anywhere. The back slab is flat front and rear with a soft radius on all four edges, and it meets the seat at an angle just short of square, which is what stops it looking like a box. The seat slab is the same thickness as the back and overhangs the legs a little on every side. Because both surfaces are flat, the frost across them is completely even, and the chair holds one tone from any angle rather than brightening along a curve. The grey in the white is faint and shows most against a warm wall.

Standing 58cm, it makes a low chair: a child's seat, a bedside perch, or an occasional chair beside a low table. It also works simply as a stand for a plant or a stack of books in a hall, where the flat back gives the objects on it something to sit against. The flat planes take a shadow crisply, so a directional light close by makes the two slabs read as separate elements. Three feet want a hard, level floor. Indoors only.

The Angle Between the Slabs, and How Thick They Run

Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. What varies here is geometry rather than finish. The angle between the back and the seat, from this near upright through to a distinctly reclined version, which turns the object from a working chair into a lounging one. The thickness of the slabs, which is what decides whether the chair reads light or massive. And the leg count and placement, since a fourth leg under the centre front changes the whole footprint. A curved back can be cast in place of the flat slab. Overall height and plan come to your figures. Crated singly and ready to use; one person carries it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two flat slabs on three cylinders give this frosted chair a place in our art furniture; its cool white casting is listed among our resin sculptures, and the piece in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
