Frosted Fluted & Stepped Resin Abstract Sculpture (233cm) by Giant Sculptures, a long frosted resin slab with fluted grooves, stepped blocks, and purple and orange inclusions, on a plain white background.
Frosted Fluted & Stepped Resin Abstract Sculpture - 233cm $9,31600
Description

This sculpture is a long, low slab of frosted clear resin, its top face fluted from end to end in close parallel grooves and one end cut back on a long diagonal. Across the top, flat frosted blocks are set in stepped tiers that rise to a single higher block near the middle, and small coloured inclusions, purple and orange among them, are held in the resin here and there, so points of colour show softly through the frost.

Frosted Blocks Stepped Over a Fluted Slab

Frosted resin keeps very little back about its own geometry. The frost turns every face to the same soft, pale grey and leaves only the edges to read, so each flute has to run at an even depth from one end of the slab to the other, and every block is squared with its arrises kept crisp, because a rounded corner under frost reads as a smudge. The coloured inclusions sit inside the material rather than on it, which is why they show through the frost as soft points of colour, and the diagonal end is worked and frosted to match the rest.

Low and long, it wants floor space and room to walk round it: a gallery, a lobby, a large living room or the middle of a wide hall. Light from above or from one side picks out the flutes and the edges of the stepped blocks, and a dark floor brings the frost forward so the whole slab glows pale against it. The inclusions are small, so they reward a closer look rather than carrying across a room.

Block Layout, Inclusions and a Long Slab on Delivery

Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The stepped blocks can be laid out differently, gathered toward one end or spread along the slab, and the inclusions can be set in other colours or left out for a plain frosted piece. The frost can be taken lighter so more of the inside shows, and the fluting can be run across the slab instead of along it. Delivery is planned with you before the piece is made, since a slab of this length needs a clear and straight route to its position. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Frost laid over close fluted grooves belongs with our abstract sculptures; small points of colour held inside the resin lead to our resin sculptures, and a slab to walk round on a gallery floor joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
