This acrylic sculpture is two versions of one idea, and one is supplied per order. The upright block has its vertical faces chamfered so the plan is a polygon rather than a square, with the foot cut back on one side. The wedge is a slab standing on edge with a vertical back, a flat bottom and a single long slope from the top of the back down to the front. Both are frosted acrylic throughout.
The material is the same in both and the finish is what makes them work. Acrylic frosted right through goes to a satin white that is not quite opaque, so an edge does not draw a hard line: it reads as a soft change of tone from one plane to the next, and each plane holds a different value depending on where the light is. On the block the chamfers put five or six of those values side by side around the block, and the angled cut at the foot lifts one corner so the mass looks lighter than a block of that section has any right to. The wedge does the opposite with a single cut. One long plane, one vertical, one horizontal, nothing else, and the slope carries a gradient from pale at the thin end to grey where the material is at its deepest. Small internal cloudings are visible near the top of both and are characteristic of the cast material.
These are desk and shelf objects. At 24cm the upright takes almost no room and the wedge little more, so a desk, a bookshelf, a hall table or a mantelpiece all suit them, and they are heavy enough for their size to sit without a pad. Both want light from one side rather than from overhead, because a side light is what separates the planes and a downlight flattens them into one white shape. Against a white wall they nearly disappear, so a mid or dark ground behind is worth arranging. They also read well grouped in threes along one shelf. Indoor use only.
Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The two versions are priced separately because they are different objects and not one design at two sizes, so check the picker before ordering rather than assuming a size step. Beyond the version, the finish is the decision: frosted throughout as here, frosted on the faces with the cut edges polished clear, which gives a bright line along every arris, or polished clear all over, which turns both into very different pieces. A tint can be carried in the material, and grey, bronze and a pale blue are all made. Plan sizes are held as standard on both versions because the proportions are the design, though either is made at half or double scale to order. Each is boxed on all six faces in a fitted case, since a frosted face marks more easily than a polished one, and one person can carry either. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Comparable forms sit in our abstract sculptures, the acrylic in it belongs with our acrylic sculptures, and the cut planes go with our geometric sculptures.

Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
