Figured Panel & Black Steel Resin Console - 240cm
Figured Panel & Black Steel Resin Console - 240cm $25,73400
Description

Across this cast resin and steel console lies a thick panel with a natural broken edge on both long sides and a brushed upper face. Its figure runs in heavy bands along the length, greys and off-whites through the middle with a rust-brown seam nearer one edge and pale crystalline patches breaking through, so the surface reads as a section cut from something much older. Beneath it a black steel base is curved into a deep U, its two arms rising to meet the panel and its foot spreading onto a flat base plate. The steel is matt and unornamented.

A Figured Panel on a Deep Steel Curve

Two materials, and each is allowed to be exactly what it is. The panel is brushed rather than polished, and its figure runs in heavy bands along the length: greys and off-whites through the middle, a rust-brown seam nearer one edge, pale crystalline patches breaking the surface. Both long edges are left natural and broken, so the outline is not a line the workshop drew. Under it the steel base is the opposite kind of statement: matt black, unornamented, curved into a deep U whose two arms rise to meet the panel and whose foot spreads onto a flat base plate. The curve is what keeps so long a panel from looking like a shelf.

It belongs against a wall in a hall or a large room, and it needs an unbroken stretch of wall. The base is symmetrical but the panel is not, so the piece has a better end; put the rust-brown seam where people arrive. It is extremely heavy, the panel and base come separately, and the floor beneath the base plate must be level. Six people and a clear route. Indoor use only.

The Panel, the Base, and Delivery

Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The figured panel is the slow part. Three things are yours to choose. The panel length is quoted to your figure, the base can be finished in a bronze or a brushed steel instead of black, and the U can be drawn shallower. Which panel is used is ours to choose, since the figure differs on every one. The overall length and the top thickness are named by you. The figure and banding in the panel are held across a set; they are not held from one order to the next. With the natural edge of the panel crated clear, four people can bring it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A panel with natural broken edges and a figure like old stone belongs with our organic sculptures; its black steel U relates it to our stainless steel sculptures, and the console to our art furniture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
