Deep Teal Guardian Lion with Ball on the Left Resin Sculpture, 38cm, seated with paw on a carved ball, teal and sea green tones, on a plain white background.
Deep Teal Guardian Lion with Ball on the Left Resin Sculpture - 38cm $2,56500
Description

Seated upright, this cast resin guardian lion keeps a carved ball beneath one forepaw, on the left when the lion is seen from the front. The resin is a deep teal, nearly black in the mane and the shoulders and opening to a clear sea green across the chest and the flank where the light comes through. Its mane rises in tight curls above an open mouth.

A Carved Ball Under a Teal Paw

A tint this deep shows every flaw in reverse: a bubble that would vanish in a clear casting turns into a bright pin of light against the teal, so the mane, with its many hollows, is the hardest part to cast clean. The ball is carved with an open pattern so the light can pass into it, and it is kept a shade paler than the paw that rests on it. The curls are cut deep enough to hold their own shadow, which is all that keeps a dark mane from reading as a single mass.

At 38cm a deep windowsill or a sideboard suits the lion, and two of them can stand either side of a door, looking outward. A dark teal wants a pale ground behind it, white plaster or light oak, or it closes into a silhouette. Turn the ball toward the approach, since that side is its front.

Teal Depth, the Pair and Delivery

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The teal can be taken paler toward aqua or deeper still, and blue, amber or a gilded clear version can be cast instead. Its companion, the teal lion with the ball under the other forepaw, can be set opposite it; the price covers a single lion, so a pair is two orders, and both are cast at whatever size is chosen. Any size can be made. Its own fitted crate carries it, and one person can lift it under the hindquarters. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A teal guardian lion keeping a carved ball underfoot belongs with our lion statues; a curled mane over an open mouth leads to our figurative sculptures, and deep teal resin clearing to sea green joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
