Deep Red Twisted Saddle Sheet Resin Sculpture, 72cm, a twisting ribbon-like red resin form on a black rectangular base, shown on a plain white background.
Deep Red Twisted Saddle Sheet Resin Sculpture - 72cm $1,89900
Description

A sheet of deep red resin given one long twist from end to end. At one end it runs out flat into a thin tongue held level in the air; from there it climbs to a folded crest, drops into a deep scoop that rests on the block and turns over again to lift a broad, pointed blade at the other end, turned to show its full face. The red is unbroken from one end to the other and deepens almost to black along the edges and in the folds. A broad black marble block is included and is square at the foot.

One Long Twist From Tongue to Blade

Turning a flat sheet through a full twist is a question of where the turn happens, and here it is spread over the whole run rather than wrung out at one point: the tongue at one end becomes a scoop in the middle and a blade at the other, each stage handing on to the next. The single deep red is chosen for that reason rather than a graded tint: a colour change would be read as a change in the section and compete with the one the form is already making. Kept to one colour, the resin shades itself where the sheet folds over or turns edge-on, and that shading is what the eye follows round the twist.

A console, a sideboard or a credenza takes it, and it needs surface on both sides rather than a corner, since the two lifted ends are what read from a distance. A single strong light does more for a deep red than an even wash, which leaves it looking flat. A pale wall behind holds the silhouette where a dark one loses it. Turned so that the scoop and the lifted blade both face the room, it shows the whole of the twist at once.

The Red, the Section, and Delivery

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. The red can be graded out towards one end where a single colour is too dense for the setting, the sheet can be given a further half turn, and the block can change to white marble. Both the span and the depth of the turn are specified at the order, and the block is cut to suit. It ships in one crate with the block boxed separately and both ends supported, and two people should place it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

The turn puts it with organic sculpture, the unbroken red is what resin sculpture does best, and anything needing most of a sideboard to itself is indoor sculpture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
