The ribbon is flat in section and stands on its edge, so the form is entirely a matter of profile. Four S-curves run along its length, and both ends rise steeply: the left one curls back over at its tip, while the right one stands straight up to a square-cut end. The red holds at one strength the whole way along, with no grade in it at all. No base is included, and the ribbon holds itself up on the three troughs that reach the surface.
A flat ribbon standing on its edge has almost no depth, so everything depends on the curve profile being cut cleanly. Four S-curves is the count that gives a run of this length a rhythm without turning it into a pattern: three reads as a shape and six reads as corrugation. The single deep red is chosen for the same reason. A graded tint would mark one end as the beginning and give the piece a direction, and this one is built to be read from either end and from both sides.
A sideboard or a long console suits it, and it must have space on both sides rather than depth. A plain wall behind is what the piece needs most, because the silhouette is the object and a busy background cuts it to pieces. The troughs meet the surface at three points and want a level run. Standing a flat ribbon on its edge makes the silhouette the whole object: from directly in front it is a drawn line, and a step to either side turns it into a solid.
Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. The curve count is set to three or five instead of four, the red is graded toward the ends, and the ribbon is drawn wider. The ribbon is cast at other lengths, and the number of curves is set to the run instead of fixed at four. Three curves make a calmer run and five a busier one, both at the same length. Where the flat red is too solid the colour is graded out toward the two ends, which gives the piece the direction it deliberately lacks here. A long crate takes it lying on its side with both raised ends wrapped, and two people raise it onto the surface. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Ribbon forms are organic sculpture; the red is held right through resin sculpture; and a silhouette this thin is indoor sculpture work against a plain wall.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
