Deep Red Slender Twisting Flame Resin Sculpture - 76cm, a narrow twisting flame-like form on a black marble base, set against a plain light background.
Deep Red Slender Twisting Flame Resin Sculpture - 76cm $1,68800
Description

A narrow body making one turn as it climbs and closing in a drawn point, with a fin of the same material folded back along one side. A deep red fills the body and lightens toward the drawn point, and there is no second colour in it anywhere. A small black marble block is supplied, cut close under so slender a casting.

One Colour, Nothing to Hide Behind

At this size the same drawn point is within reach of a hand, and what the piece is about becomes the depth of the colour rather than the height of the object. Of the flames made from this drawing it is the one you can pick up, and no part of it is more than a hand's width from the outside, which is why the colour reads as depth. One colour carried right through a body this narrow leaves nothing to hide behind, and every change in section shows as a change in depth of red. Polished on every face, which is what turns the red from a surface into a volume.

A bedside, a narrow shelf or a windowsill. Very little room is needed for it. A pale ground behind it. Red against dark panelling loses the whole outline. Light from behind turns the body to a lantern; from the front it reads nearly opaque. The colour is what carries and the twist in it does not, so from away it is a red line and nothing more.

Lightening the Red, and Delivery

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The red is lightened toward orange, the twist is opened, and pale marble replaces the black block. Lighten the red and the changes of section stop showing, because the depth of colour was what made them visible. Stone and casting arrive in one small box, the stone set down first and the flame lifted on after it. One person, one hand around the body and not at the point. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A deep red flame turning once to a drawn point leads to our organic sculptures; the deep red body joins our resin sculptures, and it glows best with light behind it, like others in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
