Description

A curl of resin left open at the top: from its narrow foot one side climbs to a slender tip and the other swells round into a deep bowl, so a wide gap stays between them. The outer wall is a glossy deep red, close to black where the resin is heaviest and glowing a brighter red at the tip and along the swell of the bowl, while the whole inner face is laid with crackled gold-toned flakes. It comes with a marble base.

Deep Red Outside, Crackled Gold Within

This is a curl built on the contrast between its two faces. Outside, the resin is a deep red so dense that it reads almost black, and only at the slim tip and along the swell of the bowl does the red show brightly, glowing like embers. Inside, crackled gold-toned flakes cover the whole face, bright and broken, with darker and rosier patches caught between them. Seen from the open side the gold fills the curve with light; seen from behind, the piece is a dark, glossy ribbon with a red glow at its edges, so it changes completely as it is walked round.

Stand it with the open side of the curl facing into the room, or the gold inside is hidden behind the dark wall. On a side table, a sideboard or a console it rewards a lamp to one side, which lights the gold and brings up the red at the tip, and a pale wall behind keeps the dark outline sharp. It suits rich colours around it: walnut, leather, deep green or ink blue.

Deep Red, the Gold Lining and Delivery

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Made to commission, the red can be taken towards a brighter ruby or a plain black, the gold-toned flakes laid more thinly or replaced by clear resin inside, and another marble chosen for the base. Other spans can be made, keeping the open gap in proportion. Its crate holds the curl upright with the tip cushioned and the base packed beside it, and the piece is lifted with both hands under the bowl, keeping off the tip. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
