A broad band twisted through itself and laid down, so that it passes over its own width twice, rising at one side into a tall loop and folding over at the other into a low, hooded lobe. Deep blue holds the crests of the twist and pales through every turn of the band. Nothing is supplied under this one; the band touches down at two points of its own twist.
Left matt and deep, the twist is read by shading alone, which is a slower thing to look at and a steadier one. A twist that passes through itself has an inside face nobody ever sees square on, and the matt surface is what keeps that face reading as part of the same band rather than as a separate dark shape. The colour helps: the blue gathers along the crests and the edges and thins across the broad faces, so each turn shows as a change of depth. Nothing on it reflects, so no highlight breaks the line of the band.
This wants a low table where the twist can be looked into from above. Give it a quiet ground. A twist reads by its edges, and edges need something to read against. Matt and deep blue, it wants light close and to one side, or the twist goes flat. From away it is a blue knot; the fact that the band passes through itself takes a nearer look.
Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. The twist is given another turn, the matt surface is polished, and the blue is moved toward violet. Add a turn and the band lengthens, so the piece settles wider on the surface. Polished, the deep blue turns glassy and the crossing can be seen through. A single crate carries it; it goes straight onto the surface and is taken up by the outer band rather than through the middle. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A matt blue band laid down with one twist through its middle belongs among our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
