A block table of dark-grained timber split by a white seam. The timber is a deep walnut brown with a straight, close grain and paler streaks, polished to a high gloss. Down one face, just off centre, a channel packed with white granules runs the full height, wandering in width and opening out at the top, where the same white fill covers almost the whole top face inside a thin timber rim.
The block is dark timber almost everywhere, and that is what makes its one interruption read. The seam is a narrow channel of white granules, glittering like crushed ice, that pinches and swells as it falls and reaches both the top and the bottom edge. At the top it spills into a white field that fills the top face almost to the edges, so the block reads as a dark box with a white top and one white stream running down its front. The granules are coarse enough to show their facets close to, and from a distance they merge into a soft, bright white. Every arris of the timber carries a bright line of reflection.
At 50cm the block makes a tall side table or a lamp stand, level with a sofa seat and slim enough to slip between two chairs. The white top takes a glass, a lamp or a book. Turn the seamed face into the room, since the other sides are plain timber; against a pale wall the block reads as a dark shape with one bright stripe, and against a dark one the white top and the seam are what show. Indoors only.
Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. Where the seam falls is the first decision: on one face as here, turned round a corner so it reads from two sides, or wrapped right round the block. The top comes second, white across its whole face as here, left as plain timber, or given a white panel only at the centre. Third is the fill, from these white granules to a tinted or clear one, and the timber can run from this dark brown to a paler stock. Plan and height are quoted from your own figures. It travels palletised in a single crate and two people should lift a block of this density. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A white seam through dark timber gives this block its place among our abstract sculptures; pressed into service as a side table, the block sits with our art furniture, and its granular white fill among our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
