Crimson Swirl Petal Resin Swivel Chair - 80cm
Crimson Swirl Petal Resin Swivel Chair - 80cm $3,57500
Description

A petal shell chair on a brushed brass column with a wide disc foot. The shell has six lobes, the two front ones pulled into sharp points. Its centre is nearly colourless and the crimson is banked into the bottom edge, where it deepens to a solid wine at the lip. Loose red streaks reach in across the seat from the edge, and a few dark flecks are caught in the thickest parts.

Colour Held at the Rim, Clear Through the Middle

Colour and clarity are divided by depth in this shell. The crimson collects where the resin runs thick, along the bottom edge and into the two pointed tips, and it darkens to wine at the front lip, while the crest of the back and the middle of the seat stay almost colourless. From that red border, loose threads wander in across the seat and fade well before its centre. A few darker flecks are trapped where the casting is thick. Six lobes give the plan its near-round outline, and the two front points curl outward, standing well clear of the seat like the tips of a petal.

At 80cm to the rim the back sits high enough to lean into properly. It suits a dressing table, a study desk, or a single chair by a window in a bedroom or a wide hall. It turns freely. Because the middle of the shell is clear, what is under and behind the chair becomes part of it, so a plain floor and an uncluttered wall serve it far better than a busy corner. Low light from the side makes the rim glow and leaves the centre dark. Indoors only.

Where the Colour Sits, and the Metal Under It

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. This shell is the thin-walled version of the form, so it is a little lighter than it looks. Two things are chosen at order. The colour placement: held at the rim as here, right through for a solid shell, or concentrated at the centre to reverse the whole reading. And the metal, which can be this brushed brass, a polished brass, black steel or polished steel, with or without a gas lift. Shell size and overall height are settled at order rather than picked from a list. The two crates hold shell and base separately, and they join on site with four fixings using the hex key packed with them. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A crimson-edged shell on a turning brass stem belongs with our art furniture; the brass column relates it to our metal sculptures, and the petal outline to our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
