Cream Petal Cup on a Marble Column Resin Sculpture, 125cm, cream and peach wavy petal-shaped cup atop a tall black square marble column, plain white background.
Cream Petal Cup on a Marble Column Resin Sculpture - 125cm $2,56400
Description

A cream petal cup, streaked with a soft peach that rises from its foot like the veins of a petal, carried high on a black column. The cup is opened like a single flower with its rim drawn into a soft wave, and no two points around that rim stand at the same height. The column beneath it is plain black marble, square in section, and it makes up most of the height, so most of what stands in the room is stone rather than casting.

A Small Form at Standing Height

Putting a pale cup on a black column is a decision about what disappears. The stone is dark, plain and square in section, and at this height it takes up more of the eye than the casting does - so it is finished to be unreadable. There is no figure in it, no chamfer and no moulding at the top, and the whole is polished to one even tone, which in most light reads as a dark absence rather than as an object. What stands in the room is then a cream cup at chest height with nothing obvious holding it. A figured stone would destroy that immediately: veining draws the eye down the column and the piece becomes a marble pedestal with something on it, which is a different and much older kind of object.

This is floor work and wants a clear approach on at least one side. The column needs a level floor rather than a rug, with room around its square foot. At 125cm the cup sits at about chest height and is looked into rather than up at, and the wave in the rim is in view. A plain wall behind serves the arrangement better than a patterned one, for the same reason the stone carries no figure.

The Column, the Cream, and Delivery

Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The column is cut at other heights, the cream is warmed toward honey or cooled toward white, the peach streaks are deepened or left out, and the rim is drawn more deeply waved. The cup is also cast at other diameters against the same column. A figured stone is made where the plain black is not wanted, though it changes the piece rather than dressing it. Column and casting travel in separate crates; the stone wants two people, and the cup is lifted by its foot, never by the rim. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A cup opened like a flower is organic sculpture; the cream body is resin sculpture; and a column this tall is indoor sculpture floor work.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
