Cream Frosted Acrylic Block on Timber - 105cm
Cream Frosted Acrylic Block on Timber - 105cm $3,04500
Description

A frosted acrylic block of warm cream standing on a dark timber base of exactly the same footprint. The two materials meet on one horizontal line with no moulding, no reveal and no change of width, which is the whole composition: warm translucent above, dense and dark below, and nothing to mediate between them. Inside the block, fine bright lines mark where internal panels meet: one runs the full height down the centre, a second crosses the right-hand half a little above the middle, and a short stub at the left edge answers it.

Two Materials Meeting on One Line

Two materials meeting flush along one line is harder than it looks, because nothing hides the join: block and base share one footprint, so the slightest step between them would show from every side and at any distance. Above the line the block reads as a warm cream through its frosted faces, its edges a pale yellow, and the fine lines where its internal panels meet show through the frost as bright seams. Below it the timber is a dark stain with its grain left open, and that grain is the only texture on the object.

At 105cm it is a floor piece, best met from a few paces away in an entrance or at the turn of a corridor: the join between timber and block falls a little below the knee, so it is the cream block above it that meets the eye, with the dark base grounding it. Light from behind or above brings the internal lines out; front light leaves the block reading as a solid cream mass, which is perfectly good but is not what the lines are for. Give it a hard floor. The timber base is dense and a soft surface lets one corner settle, which the meeting line reports immediately.

The Join, the Lines and Carrying It

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The proportion between the two materials is drawn per piece and it is the main variable: more timber for a heavier object, more acrylic for a lighter one, or the two reversed with the timber on top. Colour comes as this cream, a smoke, a green or a colourless block, and the internal lines can be drawn closer together, further apart or left out. The timber comes in this dark stain or a pale one. It is carried by the base with the block steadied, since taken by the block alone the join is the part under load. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Cream acrylic meeting dark timber on one clean line, this block is listed with our geometric sculptures, our acrylic sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
