Tall slots open the face of this cornflower blue wave into a row of pale ribs, each curving up from a swell of stronger blue at the foot towards a crest that breaks into short, sharp points. From high on the crest a tongue of clear spray reaches out sideways and ends in a forked tip, while a second, flatter tongue sweeps out low on the same side. The colour is fullest in the swell and thins to a glassy clear along the ribs and both tongues, and the whole wave stands on a narrow marble base.
Opening a wave with slots changes how its colour behaves. Where the resin is thick, low in the swell and along the back of the curl, the cornflower blue is at its fullest; each rib is thinner, so the tint fades along it to a pale, almost milky clear, while the gaps between the ribs are simply open air. The result is a face striped in light and colour, pale ribs set against the deeper blue of the wave behind them. The slots are not identical either: each follows its own curve and closes into a rounded end, the last of them no more than a small oval opening near the back of the wave.
Long and fairly shallow, it fits along the top of a sideboard or a hall console, angled a little so the slots face into the room. Daylight from behind sends light through the ribs and makes the blue glow along every edge; with a lamp in front instead, the glossy surface picks up highlights rib by rib. A pale wall shows the cornflower blue most truly, and the piece is at its best seen from a chair close by, where you can see straight through the slots.
Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. This wave is offered in its cornflower blue; its tint can be made paler or stronger, turned towards teal or green, or left out for a clear piece. The slots can be opened wider or kept narrow, and the forked tongue drawn out further from the crest. It travels with its marble base in a single padded crate, the forked tongue supported so that nothing presses on it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A cornflower blue wave opened into pale ribs is counted among our organic sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
