Contemporary Snake Head Bronze Sculpture - 45cm $10,87200
Description

The Contemporary Snake Head Bronze Sculpture stands 45cm tall and commands attention with its raised strike pose, open fanged mouth, and bifurcated tongue extended forward in a moment of frozen aggression. Drawn from the Chinese Zodiac tradition, this is a monumental statement piece in form as much as in meaning.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, every surface detail of this bronze snake head sculpture is locked in at the foundry stage and then refined by hand. The segmented panel detailing across the skull, the concentric ring texture of the raised spherical eye, and the clean edge of each exposed fang are all the result of skilled hand-finishing after casting. The warm dark brown patina is applied by hand using heat and chemical treatment, with deliberate green oxidation worked into the recessed panel lines to emphasise depth and the passage of time. This is not a decorative approximation of scale; the handcast bronze zodiac sculpture weighs 25kg, and its presence in any space is immediate.

The piece suits interiors with strong architectural lines: entrance halls, double-height reception rooms, gallery spaces, and contemporary commercial lobbies. It works equally well on exterior steps, plinths, or terrace settings where the warm bronze tones play against stone or concrete surrounds. The patina is weather-stable and requires no sealing for outdoor placement, developing a natural character over time with minimal maintenance.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the standard dark brown, including cold black, aged verde green, and polished natural bronze. The sculpture can also be produced at larger monumental scales for architectural or public art installations. If you are considering a scale adjustment or a paired commission inspired by the Chinese Zodiac series, contact us before ordering so we can confirm feasibility and production lead times.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
