Contemporary Rat Head Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, 45cm cast bronze profile with reddish-brown patina, raised ear and open mouth, on a plain background.
Contemporary Rat Head Bronze Sculpture - 45cm $10,87200
Description

The Contemporary Rat Head Bronze Sculpture is a 45cm cast bronze head study rendered at commanding scale, capturing every detail of the subject with striking naturalism. The open mouth, prominent ear with articulated inner cartilage, and spherical eye with raised iris combine to produce a portrait of raw animal presence.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

Each bronze rat head sculpture is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, a process that transfers even the finest surface detail into permanent metal. The fur texture is resolved across the entire form, from the dense ridges across the crown to the softer passages around the muzzle. A warm reddish-brown patina unifies the surface, with subtle reflective highlights picking out the raised planes of the face. This is hand-finished cast bronze at its most precise.

At 45cm and 25kg, this piece carries genuine physical weight. It suits a broad range of settings: a wide windowsill, a library shelf, a low plinth in a hallway, or a sheltered outdoor terrace. The warm bronze tones read well against stone, concrete, dark timber, and rendered wall surfaces. Its subject holds particular resonance for collectors with an interest in the Chinese Zodiac, and it works equally as a standalone sculptural object for those drawn simply to the quality of the casting.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the warm reddish-brown shown, including dark oxidised brown, verdigris, and polished natural bronze. The piece can also be produced at larger scale on commission. If you would like to discuss a custom finish, an alternative size, or a specific installation requirement, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm the specification with you.
