The Contemporary Melting Clock Bronze Sculpture stands 70cm tall, its clock face dramatically twisted into a fluid S-curve, suspended upside-down from a ridged crown finial and anchored below by an organic, root-like branching base. Every element of this piece is sculptural intention made solid: time rendered unstable, form refusing to hold its expected shape.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this surrealist bronze clock sculpture is finished by hand to achieve its distinctive two-tone surface. The warped clock face and branching base carry a deep teal-green patina, while the raised numerals and rim retain a polished gold-tone bronze, creating a sharp contrast that reads as both antique and entirely contemporary. The hand-patinated bronze finish is sealed to resist fading over time, maintaining the chromatic tension between oxidised teal and warm gold across years of display.
At 40kg and 70cm tall, this is a substantial desktop or console piece, weighted enough to command a room without dominating it. It suits interiors where contrast already exists: dark lacquered furniture, poured-concrete surfaces, or rooms anchored by natural stone. The two-tone palette pairs well with brass, aged wood, and matte black accents. Placement indoors is recommended to preserve the polished gold-tone detail at its best.
The standard finish is the teal-green and gold-tone two-tone patina shown. We can also produce this piece in a full dark verdigris, a warm natural bronze, or a uniform polished gold finish across the entire surface. Scale can be adjusted upward for a more monumental presence. This sculpture is also well suited to bespoke commissions inspired by the work of Salvador Dalí, and we welcome enquiries from collectors seeking a closely considered interpretation. Contact us before ordering if you wish to discuss any variation.
