The Contemporary Hand-Form Chair Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 150cm and takes the form of a life-size human hand rendered as a fully functional seat: fingers curving upward to create the backrest, the thumb arching outward as a natural armrest, and the cupped palm forming a smooth, inviting seat surface mounted on a single flared trumpet pedestal.
This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which captures every anatomical curve and crease of the hand with precision before skilled artisans hand-finish the surface to its signature mirror-polished gold-toned bronze result. The high-reflectivity finish carries no visible patination; it reads as burnished gold from every angle, shifting with ambient light to produce a presence that is simultaneously sculptural and utilitarian. This is not decorative approximation of seating; it is a functional bronze art chair built to carry weight and withstand daily use.
At 120kg, the piece is substantial and self-stabilising. Its polished gold tone suits interiors built around warm metallics, marble flooring, lacquered joinery, and contemporary or maximalist design schemes. It works equally well as a centrepiece in a hotel lobby, a luxury showroom, a private residence entrance hall, or a high-end gallery setting. The placement suitability is particularly suited to interior settings, as the mirror finish is optimised for controlled interior environments.
This sculpture can be finished in a range of alternative patinas, including dark antique brown, verdigris green, or a two-tone polished and oxidised treatment. Scale variations are available; a larger statement version or a more compact 100cm edition can be commissioned. If you are considering a bespoke finish or a size outside the standard specification, contact us before ordering so we can confirm feasibility and timeline.
