Colourless Overlapping Disc Cast Resin Dining Table, 185cm, with rippled lobed top on slender drip-shaped legs, shown on a plain white background.
Colourless Overlapping Disc Cast Resin Dining Table - 185cm $15,86400
Description

Instead of a single plane, this dining table's top is made of two rounded, elongated discs, the end of one laid over the end of the other, each rippled across its face like water stirred by wind. The outline that results is lobed rather than oval. It stands on slender legs set along its length, each modelled as a long drip that leaves the underside broad and tapers away to a narrow foot. All of it is colourless resin, polished throughout.

Discs Overlapping Into One Top

The top is built from two overlapping discs rather than cut as one plane, and every consequence of that follows. Each disc is rippled across its face; where the end of one runs over the other, the resin is doubled and the ripples crowd together into a denser passage, so the overlap shows as a change of tone and not merely as an outline. The outline that results is lobed, which means the table has no straight edge and no obvious front. The legs follow the same idea, each falling from the underside like a drop of water that thins as it runs, so the support reads as continuous with the top rather than attached to it.

It needs the clearance of any dining table on all four sides, so that chairs can be drawn back from it. The lobed outline means it has no obvious head, which suits a room where people sit round rather than along. Colourless resin takes its tone from the floor beneath, so a pale timber or stone floor lifts it. The drip legs are the detail to keep clear of chair backs. Four people. Indoors.

The Top, the Legs, and Delivery

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Most of it is the disc top. Three points are open. The length is quoted to your figure, the disc count in the top can be changed, and the piece is offered tinted. The swirl in each disc is different on every table and cannot be specified. The overall length and the top thickness are whatever you specify. If the overlap of the discs must match from one table to the next, have them all made together. The packing is designed round the drip legs and the thin top edge; allow four people on arrival. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A dining table whose top is two overlapping rippled discs on dripping legs belongs to our art furniture; its lobed outline with no front suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and a colourless table for a dining room is counted among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
