Colourless Glacial Cast Resin Low Table - 79cm
Colourless Glacial Cast Resin Low Table - 79cm $6,27400
Description

A low cast table with a round top. The upper surface is level but not flat: it ripples in broad concentric swells, as though a still pool had been caught mid movement. From its underside four legs run down, each one an irregular tapering form with a rounded foot, none of them matching another. The whole thing is water clear and there is no seam anywhere on it.

A Rippled Round Top on Unmatched Melt-Form Legs

The table is built on a contradiction that makes it work: the top is disciplined and the legs are not. Seen from above the plan is a true circle, and the surface ripples in rings that all share a rough centre, so it reads as a designed pattern. Seen from the side the four legs are wholly irregular, thick where they leave the slab and narrowing unevenly to their feet, each with its own set of hollows and swells. Nothing about them repeats. Because the material is colourless and the mass is considerable, the legs read darkest where they are thickest and almost vanish at the feet, which makes the top look as if it is resting on very little. Objects placed on the top are visible from underneath, distorted by the ripples above them.

Set it at the centre of the seating, where it can be walked round and seen from every side, never pushed against a wall or a sofa. The rippled top is level enough for a tray, a book or a glass, though a small object will find the low point of a ripple and stay there. Given a rug beneath it the pattern of the rug shows up through the whole slab, which is one of the better reasons to own a clear table. A window behind it and a plain floor beneath it shows the legs at their best. Indoors only.

The Plan Outline, the Depth of the Ripples, and the Leg Count

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. The sheer mass at this size is the slow part. The plan outline is where to start, from this circle through to a soft oval, a rounded rectangle or a plan with a deeper bite out of one edge. The depth of the ripples on the top, from this pronounced swell to a nearly flat surface with only a suggestion of movement. And the leg count, which can be four as here, three for a lighter reading, or a solid skirt all round. Plan and height are both yours to name. It comes on a pallet in one crate, and four hands are wanted to place a table this wide. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Cast clear and rippled like ice, this glacial table belongs in our resin sculptures; it is furniture first, among our art furniture, and its melting legs bring it close to our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
