Colourless Eroded Skirt Cast Resin Low Table - 90cm
Colourless Eroded Skirt Cast Resin Low Table - 90cm $9,04000
Description

A colourless cast low table, round in plan. The top is a broad disc, level but not flat: it ripples in concentric swells that all share one off-centre origin. Below it the mass does not stop at legs. It continues as a full skirt reaching almost to the floor, and that skirt is cut away into deep rounded hollows and standing ribs, pierced right through by an arch on each side, so the table touches the ground at four or five points only.

A Skirt Rather Than Legs, Pierced on Every Side

Here the material comes all the way down. There are no legs: the top's edge turns under and becomes a continuous wall, and that wall is then worked away until only ribs and arches remain. The result is that the table has an inside. Looking through any one arch you see the ribs of the far side, doubled and displaced by the material between, and the floor beneath appears at a different level through each opening. The ribs stand deepest where they meet the top and taper as they descend, so they read dark at the shoulder and almost vanish at the foot. Above, the rippled top is disciplined by comparison, its swells regular and its outline a clean circle, and the two halves meet on a hard horizontal line all the way round.

It should stand where a seating group gathers, with open floor all round, because the arches are what it is for, and a wall at its back would hide half of them. The top is level enough for trays, books and a bowl. A pale hard floor beneath it shows the arch shadows; a patterned rug comes up through the whole slab and competes with the ripples, so a plain ground serves it better. Light from a low window reaches into the hollows and separates the ribs. Indoors only.

The Arches, the Depth of the Working, and the Ripples Above

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The arches come first: one on each side as here, one pair only for a table with a solid front and back, or none, which leaves a closed drum. Then the depth of the working on the skirt, from this deep cut with standing ribs to a shallow relief that keeps the wall reading as a wall. Then the top, which can carry these concentric ripples, a single sweep across the whole oval, or a plain polished face. Plan and height are drawn for each commission. Palletised in one crate, with four people wanted for a slab of this weight. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Worn hollows and standing ribs link this table to our organic sculptures; the clear body places it among our resin sculptures, and a skirted low table of this weight belongs to our art furniture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
