Cobalt Blue Seated Guardian Lion Resin Sculpture - 21cm
Cobalt Blue Seated Guardian Lion Resin Sculpture - 21cm $1,75300
Description

This small cast resin guardian lion sits square on its haunches with both forepaws planted and its mane worked in deep curls. The curls frame its face and run down the back of the neck. The resin is a cobalt blue, darkest in the curls of the mane and clearing to a paler sky blue across the chest and the legs.

A Small Lion in Deep Cobalt

At this size the curls of the mane are cut with fine tools, and in a strong blue each needs real depth to keep a shadow, or the head reads as a single dark shape. The blue is carried in the resin itself, darkening where the casting is thickest and clearing where it thins, with nothing painted on. The whole lion is taken to a high polish, which lets the blue catch the light along every curve. The depth of blue varies a little from casting to casting, so each lion has its own shade.

At 21cm the lion is made for a desk, a bookshelf or a mantelpiece, close to where it will be seen. A pale ground lets the blue read as colour rather than as a dark outline. Light from above or beside fills the mane with shadow and makes the clearer passages glow. Set it facing the room so its face, not its flank, greets people.

Blue Depth, the Facing Pair and Delivery

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. The blue can be taken deeper or paler, and teal, amber or clear with gold leaf are offered in its place. This is one animal; ordered twice, with the second cut as its mirror, it makes a traditional facing pair. Scale is cut to order, and the curls can be made heavier or kept close to the head. A sleeved box brings it ready to stand, light enough to carry in one hand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A small cobalt guardian lion seated square belongs with our lion statues; a mane of deep curls leads to our figurative sculptures, and blue resin clearing at the chest joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
