Cobalt Blue Arch Footed Cast Resin Bowl - 50cm
Cobalt Blue Arch Footed Cast Resin Bowl - 50cm $3,10300
Description

A glossy cast resin bowl raised on arch feet. Its upper part is a deep hemisphere with a plain cut rim. Below it the wall draws in to a short waist and then swells again into a solid body, which rests on half cylinders set flat side down, so each curve rises as an arch, and the two at the front reach out as far as the rim. The whole piece is a single deep cobalt, transparent rather than frosted, so the wall behind it shows through the mass.

Casting a Hemisphere Deep Enough to Hold Its Own Colour

The piece is a play between a broad bowl and a pinched waist. Above the waist the hemisphere is wide and deep and reads as the whole object; below it the stem draws in sharply, then the body swells out again and settles onto its arch feet, which spread as wide as the rim and give the bowl a planted, steady stance. The cobalt is transparent rather than frosted, and it is not even: the curve of the bowl reads darkest where the eye looks through the most material, at the outer walls, and lightest at the middle of the base where it looks through the least. The rim is cut plain and square, with no lip and no thickening, which keeps the whole profile a single unbroken curve.

At 50cm high the bowl sits at the scale of a hall console or a wide sideboard rather than a low table, and it wants to be seen from slightly below so the arch feet and the waist are legible. It is transparent throughout, so what stands behind it becomes part of it, and a plain surface serves it far better than a busy one. Set against a window the cobalt lights right through. It holds what is put into it, though anything opaque will hide the inside of the curve. Indoors only.

The Bowl Depth, the Stem, and the Number of Feet

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. Two things decide the piece. The depth of the bowl, from this deep hemisphere through to a shallow open dish that changes it from a vessel into a tray on feet. And the feet themselves, which can be these four half cylinders, three for a lighter stance, or a solid ring that closes the base entirely. The colour route is also open: this single deep cobalt, a graded tone that darkens towards the foot, or a clear body with the colour held only in the rim. Diameter and height are each specified. It is solid and therefore heavier than its size suggests, and it ships in one crate with the rim capped; one person can lift it but two should place it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A deep cobalt vessel on arch feet sits well among our abstract sculptures; its swelling, rounded profile relates it to our organic sculptures, and the glossy blue casting to our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
