Cobalt & Sky Blue Cut Sphere on Black Marble Resin Sculpture - 51cm
Cobalt & Sky Blue Cut Sphere on Black Marble Resin Sculpture - 51cm $3,64600
Description

Bright blue fills this ball, deepening to cobalt along the rims and clearing to a pale sky blue inside the two hollows that wind round each other. The surface is polished to a glassy finish. A short blue stem holds it over a plain black marble block, supplied with the piece, so the colour seems to rise straight out of the stone.

Cobalt and Sky Blue Over Black Marble

Blue suits this cut well: where the resin is thick at the rims it closes to a deep cobalt, and where each scoop thins it opens out to a pale, watery blue like a shallow sea. The wall between the two scoops draws a single dark stroke across the colour, and the stem carries the blue down to the block, so the ball seems to grow from the stone. The marble is left plain and black, a quiet ground under a bright colour, so nothing competes with the blue.

At 51cm it belongs in a reception or a hall, on a console, a wide side table or a sideboard, with room to approach it from the front, since its two hollows are read best face on. Daylight falling across it from a side window makes the blue glow, and a white wall behind it sharpens the cobalt rims.

Cobalt Blue, the Marble Foot and Delivery

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The blue can be deepened to a darker cobalt or lifted toward aqua, and the black block can become a circle, a long rectangle or a shape drawn to suit the room, in this stone or another. The ball can also be frosted, which turns the glow into a soft, even light. It ships in a single fitted crate, the stone wrapped apart from the ball, and the ball comes out by its rim, with no weight ever put through the stem. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue ball turning round its own hollows belongs with our organic sculptures; cobalt resin paling at the centre of each scoop leads to our resin sculptures, and a bright piece for a reception console joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
