Cobalt & Clear Bubbled Cleft Vessel Resin Sculpture, 47cm, with asymmetrical peaked opening and pale clear base, shown on a plain white background.
Cobalt & Clear Bubbled Cleft Vessel Resin Sculpture - 47cm $4,58900
Description

A vessel of cobalt and clear resin that rises from a narrow foot and is cleft at the top by a deep, rounded opening into two points that lean apart. One is a smooth, blade-sharp point; the other rises higher, its tip cut into crisp, angular facets. Cobalt runs deepest down the inner faces of the cleft and through the waist of the wall, the outer wall pales, and the foot clears to a soft sky blue, with fine bubbles held through the middle of the casting. There is no base in the price; the vessel carries itself on its own underside.

Bubbles Where the Colour Is Deepest

Bubbles held in a casting are the one element that cannot be placed after the fact, so their distribution is decided with the colour rather than against it. Here they are densest through the waist, where the cobalt is deepest, which is counter to the obvious choice: they are least visible there. What that buys is a wall which changes character as it rises: dense and worked through the waist, clean and open in the two points, where the bubbles all but give out and the cobalt keeps to the inner faces.

Rising 47cm, it sits comfortably on a sideboard or a deep shelf, with the light coming from behind so the bubbles are lit through the wall. Standing it with the cleft turned into the room is what makes the two points read as separate. A pale surface beneath lifts the sky-blue foot. With the cobalt banked through the waist and down the inner faces of the cleft, the piece has a dark heart inside a paler shell, which makes it look narrower than the casting is.

Diameters, the Cobalt and Delivery

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The bubbles are drawn denser or left out, the cobalt is banked along one wall instead of the middle, and the cleft is opened wider. Diameter is open here, and the bubbles are distributed to the size instead of kept at one density. Where the bubbles are not wanted the wall is cast clear right through, and the cleft then carries the piece on its own. The crate takes it under the foot alone and leaves both points free, and it is lifted out from below, never by either point. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Cleft vessels sit in organic sculpture, the bubbles are held inside resin sculpture, and cobalt this deep needs indoor sculpture placing.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
