Clear Widening Then Closing Splash Resin Sculpture, 126cm, on a white marble base with a curling wave and forked, hole-pierced spray, shown against a plain light grey background.
Clear Widening Then Closing Splash Resin Sculpture - 126cm $4,79100
Description

This colourless splash reaches its full width about halfway up and draws in again above it, standing on the white marble base it comes with. Low on one side the water comes round on itself into a curl, with a tongue of water turning in to hang inside it; from the other the spray climbs in tall fingers that fork as they go and open here and there into round holes, leaning back in toward the middle. Nothing on it carries a tint.

It Reaches Its Full Width Halfway Up

A silhouette that opens and then closes again has two rates of change in it, and the eye reads them as one line whether or not they were drawn as one. That is the difficulty. If the swell reaches its width too suddenly the piece looks like two objects stacked; if the return above it is too quick it looks as though the material simply ran out at the top. Here both halves follow the same curve, and the widest point sits at about half the height, far enough from both ends to belong to neither, with every finger above it falling inside that line.

Its depth comes close to its breadth, so it holds up from every side. That makes it a floor piece for an open position rather than something to set against a wall, where half of the plan is wasted. A hall approached from two directions, a bay or the foot of a stair all give it what it needs. At 126cm with its stone it rises to about chest height, and its widest part comes at about waist level rather than at the floor.

The Profile, a Tinted Foot, and Getting It Home

Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. It takes its full width at half its height and comes in again above, so the profile has to open and close on one line. The widest point is moved up or down the height, the curl alone can take a tint, and the stone beneath is offered in black as well as this white marble. Holding the width all the way to the top instead makes a columnar piece that suits a narrow position. Its crate is braced and built to the widest point, every finger faced, and it comes out by the foot, never by a finger, to be set on its stone. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A profile that opens and closes again is organic sculpture; the untinted body is resin sculpture; and a plan this deep belongs to indoor sculpture floors.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
