Clear Untinted Mountain Ridge Cast Resin Sculpture, 40cm, showing five jagged peaks of varying heights in translucent resin on a plain white background.
Clear Untinted Mountain Ridge Cast Resin Sculpture - 40cm $1,61900
Description

A colourless ridge with five summits at five different heights. The material carries nothing at all - no tint, no inclusion, no veining - and nothing is supplied to stand it on. The tallest summit stands at the left and the ridge steps down and up again twice before it ends. It is shallow from front to back.

Nothing Added, So the Outline Is All of It

Take everything out of the material and only the outline is left, and an outline made of five summits has one way to fail: rhythm. Space them evenly and the eye reads a fence; make the gaps and the heights all different and it reads a landscape. So no two intervals here are the same and no two summits share a height, and the largest gap is deliberately next to the smallest, because a gradual change in spacing is itself a rhythm. It is a small piece and every one of those decisions is visible on it, which is why a plain object is not a simple one to draw.

It is table scale rather than console scale, and it is colourless, so what is behind it does most of the work. A dark surface or a dark wall behind gives the outline something to be read against; a white wall behind a colourless casting leaves the summits to be guessed at. It is small enough to move until that is right, and it is worth moving.

What Can Be Added, and Getting It Home

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. Nothing is added to the material, so the only thing the piece has is its outline and no two of its five summits are alike. A tint is run through the body, gold leaf is flecked into it, and veining is drawn low through the rock. Any of the three makes it a warmer object and none of them improves the outline, which is the point of leaving it plain. It travels in one padded box with the whole ridge bedded and the tallest summit sleeved, and one hand lifts it out. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A plain ridge of five unequal summits belongs with our organic sculptures; its untouched water-white body puts it in our resin sculptures, and an outline read against dark paint suits our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
