Clear Twisting Form Resin Sculpture - 125cm
Clear Twisting Form Resin Sculpture - 125cm $3,64400
Description

The body turns once through its whole height and opens at the top into a point hooked back over the turn beneath it. Colourless from foot to point: there is no pigment anywhere, only what the light does on the turn. A block of black marble comes with the piece, and the twist rises straight from it.

One Twist, and Every Change of Section With It

A twist in a body with no colour is visible only through its section, so the section is what the drawing works on: the body is narrow where the turn is fastest and fuller where it slows. Polishing the whole of it to one grade is what keeps those changes reading as a single movement. A single twist in a colourless body changes the section the whole way up, and every change of section shows as a new bright line rather than as a change of colour. Polished over the whole twist, the hooked point worked to the same finish so it shows no seam.

It belongs in a hall or an alcove, where a narrow upright has a wall to stand against. It needs a dark wall, or a colourless twist keeps almost no edge of its own. A single lamp off to one side draws one bright line up the whole twist. No two profiles of it are the same, so how it is turned settles what the room gets.

Setting the Pitch, and Two People at the Crate

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Ask us to set the twist at another pitch, to run a tint through the body, or to cut the marble to another plan. Change the pitch and the height moves with it, since the body holds its section instead of stretching. A different stone can go underneath it. Casting and marble are crated together and married up on site. Two people at the crate; after that one can carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear body turning once to a hooked point leads to our organic sculptures; the twisting casting belongs among our resin sculptures, and a narrow alcove suits it among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
