A round top with a rippled face crowns this side table, standing on a stem twisted out of the same clear material that spreads at the floor into an irregular splayed foot. There is no joint anywhere: the top, the twist and the foot are all one body, so light runs from the foot to the rim without a break.
The twist is modelled into the mould rather than turned, so it is not a helix of constant pitch: it tightens and opens as it rises, and no two castings give the same run. The foot spreads from the bottom of the stem into an irregular splay, and that splay is what the piece bears on, so its underside is ground true across the whole footprint. The top is worked rippled in the upper mould face and left as it came. Polishing has to reach inside the turns of the twist, which is hand work from start to finish.
At 57cm it sits next to a chair, its rippled top taking a glass or a lamp. The twist is the reason to have it and it needs light along the stem rather than onto the top, so a lamp low beside it does more than one above. The splayed foot spreads wide for a piece this size, so it is steadier than it looks but takes more floor.
Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. It is the splayed foot that decides. There are three open questions. The twist can be run tighter or more open, the foot can be made to spread further, and the body can be tinted. Plate diameter and twist height are settled at order. Batched together, the pieces are made so the wind of the stem corresponds. The rippled plate and the splayed foot are wrapped first, and the crate is built round the twist so nothing presses against it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A clear stem twisted from foot to rim belongs with our organic sculptures; by a chair it serves as a side table in our art furniture, the solid body one of our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
