Description

A round dished top with a rippled edge sits on a column turned like a length of rope, and the column flares out at the floor into a spreading pool as though the material had run there. Small gold flecks are suspended through the resin at several depths, so they read at different distances as you move round it.

A Rope Turned in Clear Resin

The twist is turned into the mould rather than worked in afterwards, so it runs unbroken from the underside of the top down into the pooled foot. The gold flecks are placed at intervals through the pour and each one is held where it was put, which is the slow part of the build. The dished top is polished inside and out, and the rippled edge is worked back by hand until no point on it is sharp enough to catch. The pooled foot is finished flat underneath so the column stands true on a hard floor without rocking.

At 72cm this stands between side-table and bar height, which suits it to a hall, a window bay or the end of a run of seating. The pooled foot spreads wide, so allow for it against a skirting, and the flecks want a light source above them rather than behind. The dished top will hold a glass and a bottle without either sliding to the rim.

The Flecks, the Twist, and Where the Light Comes From

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. Most of it is the twisted column. Three choices are open. The flecks can be left out or run denser, the twist pitch is drawn to order, and a colour can be run through the material. Quote us a top diameter and an overall height and it is built to them. Ask for several together if the lie of the gold flecks needs to agree between them. The packing protects the rippled top edge and the pooled foot; moving it wants four people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
