A shallow dished round top in clear resin sits on a column twisted like a rope, and that rises out of a rippled mass standing on a square clear base plate. The twist runs the full height of the column, and at its foot the material gathers into a ring of ripples. From the plate to the rim there is no straight line anywhere on it.
The twist is drawn in the mould and runs the whole height of the column, so it does not lose its pitch where the section changes at the top or the foot. The rippled mass at the base is modelled by hand and differs from one piece to the next. Everything is polished, inside the dish of the top as well as down the twist, and the square base plate is finished on its underside too, because a clear plate on a pale floor shows whatever is under it.
At 60cm this stands at the height of a chair arm, which makes it a lamp table or a drinks table beside a seat. The twist is what carries the piece, so it belongs where it can be seen in the round rather than pushed against a wall, and it takes a single object better than a group of them.
Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. Most of it is the twisted column. You settle three things. The pitch of the twist is yours to set, the top can be made flat instead of dished, and the base plate can be supplied round rather than square. Top diameter and column height are settled at order. The group is made as one so that the twist of the column reads the same on each piece. It arrives with the dished top and the twisted column boxed off, and two people are wanted to set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Our art furniture includes this pedestal table, whose rope-twisted column rising from a rippled foot also fits our organic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
