Clear Twin-Peak Mountain Layered Acrylic Sculpture - 168cm
Clear Twin-Peak Mountain Layered Acrylic Sculpture - 168cm $21,02900
Description

A mountain and its reflection, stood upright in clear acrylic. A tall summit rises at the centre with a second, well short of it, on a lobe to one side; both are repeated upside down beneath the waterline, and the far side of the range runs out to a single point, so the outline throws points up, down and to either side. It is built from clear acrylic strips stacked one on another, each stepping out or back from the last to make the profile, and it is colourless throughout. The main reflection narrows to the point it stands on, on a tall block of black marble, which is included.

A Mountain Stood on Its Own Reflection

A mountain stood on its own reflection has to be resolved at the waterline, where the strips are longest and the form is broadest. Everything else steps away from there, so the summits and their reflected points taper by losing strips rather than by being cut, and the second summit answers the first from its lobe at the side. Because nothing in it is tinted, the whole piece depends on its edges: each strip returns a line of light, and the points go pale where the strips thin out. On the black base the clear body has something dark to be read against.

At 168cm overall, standing on its black block, its summit is met just above eye level, so this is floor work for a hall, a stair foot or the end of a long room, somewhere it can be approached from the front and walked around. A dark wall behind it gives the stepped edges something to catch against. Side light is what it wants: from one side every step throws a highlight, from the front the strips merge. At a distance the outline of summits and points is what carries, and the layering is a discovery made at close quarters.

Choosing the Profile and Moving a Tall Piece

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. Three decisions are yours at the order. The points can be drawn out further or kept close to the summits, the strips nearest the base can take a tint, and a different stone can be chosen for the base. Draw the points out and the band at the waterline is drawn longer with them, so the outline keeps its balance. The body is set on to its base standing, held by that band and never by a summit or a point. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

It shares its stacked construction with our acrylic sculpture, its sharp outline with contemporary sculpture, and its mountain with organic sculpture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
