In this cast resin sculpture the head turns against the line of the shoulders rather than facing forward, so the neck is under tension and the bust has a front and a profile that read quite differently. The drapery is gathered high at one shoulder and falls in fine parallel folds rather than broad ones. Under it is a turned socle with ring mouldings, part of the same piece. Everything is optically clear resin, the socle included.
Fine parallel folds are harder in clear material than deep ones. Each fold is a small change of thickness, and small changes of thickness in clear resin are faint changes of tone, so folds cut too shallow disappear and folds cut too deep turn into a set of grey stripes. The pitch is set out on the model and then checked in the material before the run is committed. Turning the head introduces the other difficulty: the neck is the narrowest section carrying the heaviest part, and a turn puts that section in torsion, so it is left fuller than it looks and the fullness is hidden in the hair falling behind the ear.
A bust reads at eye level and nowhere else, which at 85cm means a low console or a plinth rather than a table. A turned head wants somewhere to turn toward, so set it at an angle to the wall and let the face look down a room or into a hall instead of across a corner. Clear resin needs a plain ground behind it or the folds are lost in whatever is on the wall. Light from the shoulder side finds the drapery; light from the front flattens it.
Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. Fold pitch is set at order, from these fine parallels to a broad classical drape, and the head turn is open in either direction. The socle can be taken deeper or shallower and its square foot left off, and the bust can be cut higher or fuller at the chest. A tint runs through the piece in a smoke, an amber or a soft green, and a frosted finish is offered. Size is cut to order. It arrives in one crate, upright, with the head cased separately inside it, and is a two-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A bust turning against its shoulders belongs with our figurative sculptures; fine parallel folds lead to our classic sculptures, and a head cast in clear resin joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
