This side table stands low, and its turned stem has room for only a few beads, so each one is heavy for its column and the whole stem reads bold. A stepped foot carries it and a disc top sits on it with a boss raised at the middle, all in clear acrylic. The top lands about level with a chair seat rather than with an arm.
Beads are the profile that shows a lathe operator up, because a bead has a highlight running round it and the highlight only stays true if the curve does. Each bead and collar is turned in sequence out of one blank, so there is no join anywhere in the stem, and the graduation is drawn first: a bead slightly out of step is obvious in a run this regular. The foot is stepped rather than domed so the table stands without rocking on a hard floor, and the boss is raised out of the disc itself rather than added to it, which is why nothing shows where the two would otherwise meet.
At 47cm it sits low enough to stand beside a chair for a cup rather than a lamp. It suits a bedroom, a reading corner or either end of a sofa. Clear acrylic keeps a small room open, and the turned stem gives it enough profile to be seen against a patterned rug, which a plain column would not manage.
Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. Bead count is set at order and takes the stem from three heavy beads to a dozen fine ones. The boss can be turned up higher, flattened away, or exchanged for a moulded rim round the top, and the foot is offered stepped, domed or as a plain disc. A tint through the whole table comes in a smoke, an amber or a blue. Diameter and height are cut to order. It travels in two parts in one fitted box, and both are one-person carries; top and stem meet on a single central fixing. Levelling pads are supplied loose. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A few heavy beads on a short stem belong with our acrylic sculptures; a small boss lifted from the disc's centre leads to our art furniture, and a cup table beside a reading chair joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
