Clear Swirling Vortex Ring Resin Sculpture, 230cm, a ring-shaped wave of clear resin with branching spray and droplets on a steel base, plain white background.
Clear Swirling Vortex Ring Resin Sculpture - 230cm $24,72000
Description

A great ring of clear water swirls up from a churned, bowl-like foot and turns right round into a vortex, as though a wave had been spun on the spot. The water climbs one side, arcs over the top in a crest of branching spray and comes down the other round an open eye, its surface streaming with long grooves that follow the turn. All the way round it flings out tendrils and droplets: long arms with beaded tips reaching to either side, and fine fingers rising from the foot.

A Ring of Clear Water Turning Round an Open Eye

The vortex is drawn as one continuous movement, and the grooves along its surface show which way the water turns, climbing from the foot, curving over the crown of the ring and running down again. Clear resin lets you look through the open centre, and through the water itself, to whatever stands behind, so the form is defined by the highlights running along each groove and by the bright beads at the tips of the tendrils. The spray is irregular, as real water is, with forks at different heights and arms flung out at different angles, which keeps the ring from reading as a perfect circle and gives it the energy of water in motion.

At 230cm it suits a hotel lobby, a gallery or a grand entrance hall, where the ring can be met at eye level and walked round. Give it generous space on every side so the tendrils have room, with a plain wall, pale or dark, at a distance behind it. Light from above and from one side sets the grooves and the beaded tips glittering. Indoor use only.

The Vortex, Its Steel Tray Option and Delivery

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The price shown is for the vortex alone, sold individually. It can also be ordered standing on a broad stainless steel tray, offered as a base option. Commissions can tint the resin, evenly or fading from the foot to the spray, and can stretch the tendrils further out or hold them in nearer the ring. The vortex is crated for the journey with every tendril braced, and it should be lifted at the foot rather than by the ring or the spray. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A ring of clear water spinning round an open eye and flinging spray outwards finds its setting in our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
