A tree carried almost horizontally, the trunk reading as one long sweep from the root mass out to the canopy, with the branching gathered at the far end of it. Colourless from root to leaf, with the trunk reading deepest because there is most of it to look through. It is a hanging piece: the whole tree is suspended level in the air, so it is seen from below as much as from the side.
A tree carried almost horizontally is drawn to be seen in the air, and the sweep is thickened along its length so it reads as a single movement and not as a line of separate branches. The root mass is drawn back behind the lean to answer the canopy, so the tree balances as a whole when it hangs. Drawing a trunk as one long sweep in a clear body lets the material do the shading, so the tree darkens toward the root without any change of colour. Polished throughout, and the underside of the sweep, which is what a hanging tree mostly shows, is taken as far as the top of it.
It hangs over a stairwell, an atrium or a long dining space, where it can be seen from below and from the side, and it wants a ceiling with height to spare. A plain, pale ceiling or wall behind it lets the clear branches read; against glazing a colourless canopy disappears. One source set high and off to the side picks out each branch edge, and the eye is led along the trunk rather than up it.
A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. Ask us to bring the span in, to open the canopy out, or to set the root sweep at another angle. Bring the span in and the canopy is rebalanced over the roots, because the tree has to hang level. It is delivered flat in one long case, and where it will hang is agreed before it arrives. Three people and a clear route; it is the length rather than the weight that catches on a doorframe. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A clear tree carried almost level leads to our organic sculptures; the long sweep of casting joins our resin sculptures, and a wide room gives it the span it needs among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
