The cat in this cast resin sculpture is caught in the middle of a stretch: both forelegs pushed right out in front along the ground, the chest and chin almost touching it, the rump lifted high behind and the tail curling up and over the back. From the side the animal makes a long shallow V. It is optically clear and polished throughout, and it measures rather more front to back than it does high.
A stretch puts almost all of the material at one end and almost none at the other, and that is the whole problem. The rump and the haunches are a heavy mass; the forelegs and the chest taper away to nothing along the ground, and the piece has to sit on that thin front without appearing to balance on it. So the underside of the chest is cut to run flat along the surface for a good part of its length rather than touching at one point, which is invisible from any normal angle and is what stops the animal looking precarious. The other slow passage is the tail. It comes up off the rump and curls back over the spine with a gap under it, and both faces of that curl are seen at once, so it is polished right round before the back is finished.
A piece that reads front to back wants length rather than height: a long console, the middle of a sideboard, a broad hearth, a bottom shelf. It is at its best seen from the side, where the whole stretch reads as one line, and it closes up almost completely from the front. Put it where nothing sits in front of the forelegs, which need clear surface to reach into. On a dark timber the polished body separates cleanly; on white it softens and the tail does most of the work.
It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. The body will take a tint of amber, of smoke, of green or of a soft blue, and a frost is available in place of the polish. The standing cat is made to match at a lesser scale, and a sleeping cat can be made to order. Tail position is set at order, curled as here or laid flat along the back. Any scale is cut to order. Transit is a fitted crate holding it as it lies and there is nothing to put together. One person places it, hands under the haunches and never at the forelegs. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A cat mid-stretch belongs with our cat statues; a body drawn out in a long shallow V leads to our animal sculptures, and clear resin polished all over joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
