Clear Streaked Blonde Log Resin Sculpture - 40cm, a debarked log with dark brown grain streaks encased in clear resin, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Streaked Blonde Log Resin Sculpture - 40cm $3,24000
Description

This block holds a debarked log whose pale straw timber is run through with dark brown streaks, some fine and some broad, all following the grain from base to top. There is no bark anywhere on it, so the streaks are the only dark on the piece, and the end grain at the top is ringed in amber where the outermost wood sits.

Dark Streaks Running Through a Blonde Log

The streaking is the timber's own and it is unusually strong here: broad brown bands run beside hairline ones on a straw-coloured ground, and they follow the grain rather than crossing it, so the face reads as a set of vertical marks rather than as a stain. Because the bark has been taken off there is no dark edge to compete with them, which is why they carry as strongly as they do. The amber ring at the top is the outermost wood in section and it frames the end grain cleanly. The whole timber surface is smooth, with no rough face on it at all.

At 40cm it is a smooth-faced block for a hall or a bedside: the faces are unbroken all round and the top is flat. The pale ground with dark marks means it reads as light from a distance and detailed at close range, which suits a position people pass rather than only look at. It sits well with oak, linen and pale plaster. It is heavy for its footprint and stays put. Indoor use only.

Streaked Timber and Why It Cannot Be Ordered Twice

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Streaking like this is a property of the individual log and it cannot be specified, only found, which is the practical thing to know about this piece. A second block ordered later will be a streaked blonde log, but the streaks will fall differently and the balance of pale to dark will not match, so two bought apart read as a related pair rather than a matched one. Where a genuine pair is wanted they are cut in sequence from one log and ordered together. A plain blonde log with little streaking is available for the same money if the marks are not the point, and a heavier-streaked one can be looked for at a wait. Block heights are made to order on the same square. Because every face is smooth it can be slid into position on a felt rather than lifted. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A debarked log with dark streaks through pale straw timber suits our organic sculptures; smooth cast pieces like it fill our resin sculptures, and plain cubic forms our abstract sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
