Clear Stacked Wave Base Glass Top Low Table (100cm) by Giant Sculptures, clear resin ribboned base with square glass top on a plain white background.
Clear Stacked Wave Base Glass Top Low Table - 100cm $7,15500
Description

In this low table a square glass top rests on clear resin cast as stacked ribbons, laid one over another and rising and falling so the base reads as a standing wave held part way through its break. Looking down through the glass, you see the ribbons as clearly as you do from the side, so the wave is never hidden.

Ribbons Stacked Into a Standing Wave

The stack is modelled into the mould as one body, so the ribbons are not laid up separately and there is no line where one meets the next. The undulation has to hold its pitch through the whole depth of the stack, and a ribbon that thins on its outer curve shows as a bright line right across the base. The top faces of the stack are brought to one plane so the glass beds evenly across both supports rather than at points. Every surface is polished, including the hollows between the ribbons.

Square in plan, it gives a seating group four equal sides at its centre, where a round table would have no head. The stack is read through the glass from above and from the side at once. It will not pass a narrow doorway assembled, so the route in is worth checking before delivery is booked.

The Stack, the Glass, and Getting It In

Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. Most of it is the stacked ribbon. Three choices are open. The ribbon count is open, the undulation is drawn to order, and the glass can be run in a thicker section for a heavier top. The glass lifts off the base for delivery, and the base travels whole because there is nothing on it to detach. You give the top span and the stack height. Nothing holds the run of the stack between separate orders. The packing protects the glass edge and the stack ends; moving it wants four people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Ribbons stacked into a standing wave belong with our organic sculptures; capped with glass, they make a centre table for our art furniture, and the stack itself sits with our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
